Funny how a mini-roadtrip over the border simultaneously makes me feel much further from home than I really am, while satiating those “need to get away” urges and perfectly fitting into a 36 hour timeframe. Vancouver B.C. is filled with all sorts of beautiful things, like Tim Hortons Vanilla Bean lattes, the Jimi Hendrix shrine, selectively curated antique shops in the Gaslight district and like every other good city, Chinatown. This is inevitably where we found ourselves the following day, head over a big ole’ bowl of Pho that could’ve been pulled from the streets of Hanoi. After a night seeing Chet Faker at The Commodore, an all-night dance with with roses at The Roxy and a lingering greycast morning, the hot brothy spice was inevitable. Looking forward to spending more time in that big city that feels like a small one, driving through the misty tree-lined streets of Yaletown, popping into shops of impeccable taste, and of course - more Tim Hortons.
